MMA rankings report: Why Gilbert Burns climbed so high after beating Tyron Woodley

Gilbert Burns had a big victory over former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley on Saturday night at UFC on ESPN 9. And Burns’ sixth straight win certainly made for a shakeup at 170 pounds.

Burns (19-3 MMA, 12-3 UFC) rose to No. 5 in the latest USA TODAY Sports/MMA Junkie  rankings, while Woodley (19-5-1 MMA, 9-4-1 UFC) dropped to No. 6.

But that wasn’t all that came out of a fine night of fights in Las Vegas. So, to break down all the changes in the rankings, MMA Junkie’s John Morgan and “Gorgeous” George Garcia break it all down in the latest edition of the MMA rankings report, which you can watch in the video above.
