UFC reveals Curtis Blaydes vs. Alexander Volkov poster for June 20 event

The UFC’s June 20 event will be headlined by two heavyweights vying for top contention.

Curtis Blaydes will face Alexander Volkov in the main event, which takes place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. The pair of fighters were originally slated to headline a UFC event in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada on that date. However, the card was canceled due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

A winner of three in a row, Blaydes (13-2 MMA, 8-2 UFC) is coming off back-to-back stoppage wins over Shamil Abdurakhimov and former UFC heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos. His only UFC losses have come at the hands of the same opponent, Francis Ngannou.

Russia’s Volkov saw an unblemished 4-0 start to his UFC tenure take a hit in 2018 when he was on the receiving end of a comeback knockout by Derrick Lewis. Since then, Volkov rebounded with a unanimous decision win over Greg Hardy in November 2019 in Moscow.
