UFC on ESPN 10 breakdown: Will Cynthia Calvillo’s move to flyweight prove beneficial against Jessica Eye?

UFC on ESPN 10 takes place Saturday and features a women’s flyweight headliner that sees a recent title challenger take on a divisional newcomer.

In the main event, Jessica Eye (15-7 MMA, 5-6 UFC) takes on Cynthia Calvillo (8-1-1 MMA, 5-1-1 UFC), who makes the move up to 125 pounds after competing at strawweight in the first seven fights of her UFC run.

Eye suffered a devastating loss in her 2019 clash with reigning champion Valentina Shevchenko, but she’s since rebounded with an impressive decision win over Viviane Araujo and stands at 4-1 since moving down from bantamweight. Meanwhile, Calvillo missed weight last time out, marking her second such infraction in three contests, and she now moves up a weight class and looks to establish herself as an immediate contender.

UFC on ESPN 10 takes place at UFC Apex in Las Vegas. The card airs on ESPN and streams on ESPN+.
