It’s only five weeks old, but Charles Rosa wants a Bryce Mitchell rematch

LAS VEGAS – Charles Rosa beat Kevin Aguilar with a split decision Saturday on the main card at UFC on ESPN 10 in Las Vegas.

Take a look inside the fight with Rosa, who has alternated wins and losses in his eight UFC fights.

Result: Charles Rosa def. Kevin Aguilar via split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28)
Updated records: Rosa (13-4 MMA, 4-4 UFC), Aguilar (17-4 MMA, 2-3 UFC)
Key stat: Rosa got a UFC win outside his native Boston for the first time.

Rosa on the fight’s key moment

“I knew Kevin had power, so I had to use my range and just touch him. Once I started landing my shots, I opened up more and put more heat on him. I’m so happy I was able to get the win. It kind of scared me when they said split decision. I’ve been on the wrong side of a split decision when I lost to Yair Rodriguez – a fight I thought I won. I’m happy I got the ‘W.’”

Rosa on going for the finish

“I was fighting to finish him the whole time. Hat’s off to Kevin. He’s a super tough kid. I went for the kill, but he was able to last. I got the win. That was the mission, so mission accomplished.”

Rosa on what he wants next

“Eventually I’d like to get the Bryce Mitchell fight back, but I’m going to have to earn it. I just took out one of the top guys in the world. I’m ready to get back in there and put on a show.”
