Rohskopf Comments On UFC On ESPN 11 Fallout

The fallout from Max Rohskopf’s decision to throw in the towel on himself during his fight against Austin Hubbard at UFC on ESPN 11 in Las Vegas, Nevada, last weekend (Sat., June 20, 2020) is still trickling in.

UFC President, Dana White, commended the 25-year old for knowing he was done, while Dan Hooker was quick to clown the UFC newcomer for saying, “no mas.” Meanwhile, former Light Heavyweight title contender, Anthony Smith, ripped Rohskopf’s corner for not stopping the fight sooner.

Now, Rohskopf is telling his side of the story.

Speaking to The Body Lock a few days removed from the fight, Rohskopf revealed his team should not be blamed nor criticized. That’s because all of the decisions made that night were his … and his alone.

“I don’t have anything to say except that all the decisions up to this point right and wrong have been mine and mine only,” he said. “My manager and coaches did nothing but listen to me and do everything I’ve asked.”

His head trainer, Robert Drysdale, recently explained how Rohskopf simply broke down mentally after fatigue kicked in because of a super short training camp (10 days). Furthermore, the Brazilian jiu-jitsu wizard also said his pupil immediately regretted the decision to call it quits.

Shortly after the fight, it was also revealed that Rohskopf was struggling with turf toe, as well. No word if Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) will move forward with its previously-planned investigation into the matter.
