TUF alumnus Josh Parisian gets second DWCS opportunity, will fight Chad Johnson on Aug. 18

Dana White’s Contender Series is back – and so is Josh Parisian.

A one-time DWCS competitor and an alumnus of “The Ultimate Fighter” Season 28, Parisian (12-3 MMA) will return to UFC programming when he takes on Chad Johnson on Aug. 18. The event is expected to be the third episode of DWCS, Season 4, and will be held at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.

A person with knowledge of the situation confirmed the booking to MMA Junkie on Sunday, after an Instagram post by Parisian. The person asked to remain anonymous as the promotion has yet to make an official announcement.

On DWCS, Season 2 in June 2018, Parisian took a short-notice fight against CES MMA heavyweight champion Greg Rebello. Despite being a moderate underdog in the books, Parisian finished Rebello with a spinning backfist and punches in 91 seconds.

The flashy finished didn’t earn Parisian a UFC bid. However, UFC president Dana White offered Parisian a shot on “The Ultimate Fighter” instead. Parisian was eliminated by Michel Batista in the opening round of the tournament.

Since that time, Parisian has won five of six. He’s currently riding a five-fight TKO streak.

As for Johnson (6-1 MMA), the LFA alumnus is known for his punching power and ability to end fights quickly. In six professional fights, Johnson has only reached the second round once.
