Paul Daley wants three more fights before retirement ending with Michael Page rematch in the U.K.

Paul Daley is edging toward the end of his career and wants to cap things off with a big fight at home.

Daley (42-17-2 MMA, 8-4 BMMA), 37, has been competing for almost two decades and has gone up against some of the best talent across all major organizations.

One of the best fighters to ever come out of the U.K., Daley’s resume includes wins over the likes of Jorge Masvidal, Martin Kampmann and Lorenz Larkin.

He is looking at three more fights and is happy with what he’s accomplished.

“For me, I think it’s just a matter of getting the three fights done and then just kicking back and seeing what happens,” Daley told MMA Junkie. “For me, three fights until my retirement because I’ve had a good run. I don’t wanna be one of these guys that stays beyond their time. There’s a lot of great, talented fighters coming up. I’d like to make space for those guys rather than be getting knocked out by those guys.

“So I could get a good three fights, a good three matchups, interesting matchups – then I’ll be done. I’m happy with what I’ve done in this sport. I’ve put on great fights, beat some tough guys, some spectacular knockouts people remember forever I’d like to think so yeah I’d be happy to step away.”

Though Daley didn’t reveal exactly who these three fighters could be, there is one fighter in particular that he’d like to face in his retirement fight.

Daley wants to run things back with the last man to hand him a loss, fellow Brit Michael Page (17-1 MMA, 13-1 BMMA) – but this time, on home soil.

While their first fight at Bellator 216 failed to deliver, Daley is sure fans would show up for a rematch.

“The dream scenario: It would be the biggest fight that I can think for the U.K. fans,” Daley said. “My last fight, it has to be here and the fight that would get the most interest for the U.K. fans, and although the first time around it wasn’t the fight that people wanted to see, it’ll be one that people would show up to if we ran it back and it would be against ‘MVP.’

“If I could have that as my final fight, I think it would be the one that would garner the most interest and it’ll be interesting: Wembley Arena, Daley’s last fight, Semtex vs. MVP 2, no wrestling, no takedowns – and we’ll see how it goes.”
