UFC adds Zak Cummings vs. Alessio Di Chirico to Aug. 29 event

A middleweight matchup is the latest addition to the UFC’s Aug. 29 lineup.

Zak Cummings(23-7 MMA, 8-4 UFC) will face Alessio Di Chirico (12-4, 3-4 UFC) on the card. The event does not yet have an official name, designation or location.

Two persons with knowledge of the situation informed MMA Junkie of the booking Wednesday, but asked to remain anonymous since the promotion has yet to make an official announcement.

Since moving back up to middleweight, Cummings has won two of his past three fights. He is coming off a unanimous decision loss to Omari Akhmedov this past September, but prior to that notched back-to-back wins over Trevor Smith and Trevin Giles.

After scoring two straight wins over Oluwale Bamgbose and Julian Marquez, Italy’s Di Chirico has dropped his two in a row to Kevin Holland and, most recently, Makhmud Muradov this past September in Copenhagen.

With the addition, the current Aug. 29 lineup includes:

  • Aleksandar Rakic vs. Anthony Smith
  • Christian Aguilera vs. Sean Brady
  • Zak Cummings vs. Alessio Di Chirico
