UFC featherweights Bryce Mitchell and Andre Fili angle for fall showdown

It appears Bryce Mitchell and Andre Fili have verbally agreed to fight.

Following his win over Charles Jourdain earlier this month, Fili (21-7 MMA, 9-6 UFC) proceeded to call out Mitchell, who was quick to respond.

“Bandana print vs Camo print? @ThugnastyMMA”

“Yup. See u in October.”

Mitchell’s response may have been fast, but it looks like he’s targeting a return in October, which is four months from now. In a March interview with MMA Junkie, Mitchell (13-0 MMA, 4-0 UFC) described how he likes to take time between fights to work on his craft, which could explain why he wants to fight in October.

“It takes time to improve,” Mitchell said. “If you could instantly improve then anybody can just instantly jump up off their couch and get good at MMA, but it takes time. And so, I want time between fights to progress and another reason is, I have to put on a lot of weight. I have to put on a lot of muscle because that weight cut takes the muscle and the weight off of me, so I don’t want to turnaround and fight in two months.”

A few days later from his initial callout, Fili reignited the talks by posting an image on <a href=”

“Not if I see you first… 🔪

Winner of three of his last four, Fili rebounded with a split decision win over Jourdain at UFC on ESPN 10.

Unbeaten Mitchell continued to impress with a dominant display against Charles Rosa at UFC 249, making it 4-0 in the UFC.
