Twitter reacts to Dustin Poirier’s ‘Fight of the Year’ contender win over Dan Hooker at UFC on ESPN 12

Dustin Poirier and Dan Hooker gave the world one of the best fights in UFC lightweight history.

The two contenders engaged in a back-and-forth war that went to the judges’ scorecards in the main event of UFC on ESPN 12. The card went down on Saturday night at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nev. and it aired on ESPN and ESPN+.

After the competitive battle, Poirier walked away with a unanimous decision win, scoring 48-47, 48-47 and 48-46 on the judges’ scorecards. It was a hard-fought bout in which both fighters expended a lot of energy and took plenty of damage. Many in the MMA community were in awe of one of the best fights this year.
