‘Overkill’ Draws ‘Karate Hottie’ For Aug. 22

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has assembled an interesting 115-pound showdown between a pair of Top 15 strawweights for the promotion’s Aug. 22 fight card, according to MMA Junkie, tentatively scheduled for UFC APEX facility in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Hill (12-8) is coming off a split decision loss to Claudia Gadelha at the UFC on ESPN 8 event back in May, which snapped a three-fight win streak for “Overkill.” The former Ultimate Fighter 20 contestant, now 35, has been competing inside the Octagon for nearly six years.

As for Waterson (17-8), who turned 34 back in January, she’s coming off back-to-back losses for just the second time in her 13-year career. “The Karate Hottie” has not seen the win column since outlasting Karolina Kowalkiewicz at UFC on ESPN 2 back in early 2019.

Fun fight.

The Aug. 22 event is also expected to feature a middleweight showdown between Yoel Romero and Uriah Hall. Elsewhere on the card, which is likely to air exclusively on ESPN+, Mariya Agapova and Shana Dobson collide in flyweight action.
