Pic: UFC Fight Island 1: ‘Kattar vs Ige’ Poster Drops!

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has unveiled the poster for the upcoming UFC Fight Night: “Kattar vs Ige” event set to go down July 15, 2020 on “Fight Island,” which is on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi and will air exclusively on ESPN+ and ESPN.

The event is set to feature a thrilling Featherweight showdown between two of the fastest-rising contenders in the division, as Calvin Kattar (No. 6) faces Dan Ige (No. 10). Winner of six straight, Ige was last seen taking out Edson Barboza at UFC on ESPN 8 in Jacksonville, Fla. So after finally cracking the Top 10, he is facing bigger and better challenges in hopes of making a run at the title.

Kattar, meanwhile, has won three of his last four, with his loss coming against top division threat, Zabit Magomedsharipov. Over his last 15 fights, Kattar has gone 13-2 making him a legit player in the 145-pound weight class.

Co-headlining the event is a pivotal Bantamweight bout, as Shrankie Frankie Edgar — loser of two in a row — makes his division debut against Pedro Munhoz, who recently had his momentum halted by Aljamain Sterling. The event will take place on a rare Wednesday in between UFC 251 in Sat. July 11 and UFC Fight Night: “Figueiredo vs Benavidez 2” on Sat. July 18.
