Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) middleweight striking sensation Uriah Hall has captured back-to-back wins for the first time in nearly five years, knocking out Bevon Lewis at UFC 232 before capturing a split-decision victory over Antonio Carlos Junior at UFC Vancouver.

Currently sitting at No. 10 at 185 pounds, “Prime Time” is hoping a statement finish over former middleweight title contender Yoel Romero will be enough to earn him a shot at reigning division kingpin Israel Adesanya, though Hall (15-9) is not opposed to making a pit stop along the way.

“I know the type of fights that will bring the best out of me stylistically and I’m trying to get to Izzy,” Hall told MMA Junkie. “I’m trying to get to him and in doing so I think taking out Yoel will solidify that spot. If they want to throw Darren Till out there I would love to smash him too, but I’m just trying to climb the ladder.”

Hall, who turns 36 at the end of the month, will battle Romero as part of the promotion’s Aug. 22 fight card on ESPN, roughly three months after his Ronaldo Souza showdown fell apart at the last minute, thanks to the Brazilian’s positive test for coronavirus.

As for Romero (13-5), he’s now dropped three straight and four of his last five, including a lackluster decision against the aforementioned Adesanya at UFC 248 last March. “Soldier of God” turned 43 back in April and is generously ranked No. 4 in the division.
