‘Fight Island’ Bonuses! Namajunas, Andrade Walk Away With FOTN

The “Fight Island” action delivered as advertised last night (Sat., July 11, 2020) at UFC 251 live on ESPN+ PPV from inside Flash Forum in Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, as Kamaru Usman defended his UFC welterweight title in a dominant main event performance opposite rising superstar Jorge Masvidal (highlights HERE).

In addition to the main event, Alexander Volkanovski edged out Max Holloway in their co-main event rematch to keep his UFC featherweight strap and Petr Yan ended Jose Aldo late to win the vacant UFC bantamweight crown. Fight fans also got to see a slick armbar finish by Amanda Ribas as the Brazilian contender tapped out Paige VanZant, light heavyweight newcomer Jiri Prochazka make a huge statement with his knockout win over Volkan Oezdemir, and English veteran Davey Grant start the event off with a one-punch finish.

Not to mention the women’s strawweight rematch between former UFC champions Rose Namajunas and Jessica Andrade that stole the show. “Thug” would do enough over the course of three bloody rounds to walk away with the split-decision win.
