Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) bantamweight contender Marlon Moraes recently tested positive for coronavirus, as did his wife, who was hospitalized in their native Brazil. Fortunately, it appears “Magic” and Co. will make a full recovery.

“Unfortunately, I got the virus — me and my wife. We were very weak, the symptoms were very strong on us. Thank God I didn’t need to go to the hospital, but I had to take my wife to the hospital,” Moraes told ESPN Brazil. “We spent a day at the hospital. She was treated by them, she took some medicines, then she stayed under observation.”

Moraes, 32, has not competed since squeaking past Jose Aldo at UFC 245 last December but is currently in talks to face off against former UFC bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt later this year; however, nothing is official at this time.

The 23-6-1 “Magic” is currently ranked No. 1 at 135 pounds.
