Fight Island Bonuses! Figueiredo Banks $50K For Main Event Submission

The international action delivered as advertised last night (Sat., July 18, 2020) at UFC Fight Island 2 live on ESPN+ from inside Flash Forum on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, as Deiveson Figueiredo cashed in on another main event bid against Joseph Benavidez to earn a first-round submission and the vacant UFC flyweight title (highlights HERE).

In addition to the quick main event, middleweight Jack Hermansson scored a beautiful heel hook submission over veteran contender Kelvin Gastleum, Ariane Lipski pulled off one of the best kneebars you might ever see, and light heavyweight prospect Roman Dolidze smashed Khadis Ibragimov via TKO in his debut.

Fight fans also got to see lightweight youngster Joel Alvarez pull off a huge upset when he submitted veteran Joseph Duffy, bantamweight newcomer Amir Albazi score the first triangle choke of 2020 in his memorable Octagon debut, and Rafael Fiziev score a hard-earned decision over Marc Diakiese after landing some of the loudest shots heard around the world.
