Jack Hermansson elevated his status in the middleweight division on Saturday when he defeated Kelvin Gastelum in the UFC on ESPN+ 30 main event.

Hermansson (21-5 MMA, 8-3 UFC) added another notable name to his resume when he scored a first-round submission victory over Gastelum (15-6 MMA, 10-6 UFC) in the co-headliner, which took place at Flash Forum at Yas Island in Abu Dhabi.

That was smart of Hermansson to attack that given that Gastelum was coming back from a knee surgery. Tough loss for Gastelum, who looked to come in shape, but Hermansson was a man on a mission as well.
