UFC on ESPN 14 free fight: Darren Till makes successful middleweight debut vs. Kelvin Gastelum

Darren Till looks to continue a successful middleweight campaign Saturday.

The former UFC welterweight title challenger made his 185-pound debut last November, outpointing Kelvin Gastelum in a split decision at UFC 244 in New York. Till (18-2-1 MMA, 6-2-1 UFC) moved up to the division after two straight defeats at 170 pounds. It was a much anticipated and clamored move as Till had missed weight twice in the UFC and was coming off two straight defeats. Many believed Till would fare better at a weight class above, eliminating the drastic weight cut.

Now, in his second bout at 185 pounds, Till takes on former UFC champion Robert Whittaker in the main event of UFC on ESPN 14 on July 25. The card goes down on Saturday night in Yas Island, Abu Dhabi. The event is part of the UFC’s ‘Fight Island’ series.
