UFC on ESPN+ 30 reactions: Winning and losing fighters on social media

Since the early days when the sport was anything but a mainstream endeavor, the MMA industry has thrived and survived through various websites, forums, and – perhaps most importantly – social-media platforms.

Fighters interact with fans, each other and many more through the likes of Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, which helps outsiders get a deeper look into the minds of the athletes.

Following Saturday’s UFC on ESPN+ 30 at Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, several of the winning and losing fighters, along with their coaches, training partners or family members, took to social media to react to the event or share a message with supporters.

Check out some of those reactions.

Not the way I wanted my fight to go but I got the Win last night. Montel was a very tricky Character and had an amazingly awkward style to adapt to. I did what I needed to do to grind through the fight to get the decision nod. Wether you found the fight boring or not, when you get dropped you adapt and overcome. And I’m very happy with the way I responded after getting caught with a big shot in the 1st. Picking up the next 2 rounds with a grinding style got me the win. Firstly a massive thank you to the teams! @shoremixedmartialarts @adrenalinkgbwallis @bjohnsmma Thank you to @carlbopparker @richard.shore @7johns for the help through the last 2 weeks. Also a thank you to their families for letting them share this amazing journey with me! Also it was a privilege to share this amazing experience with 2 other phenomenal Welsh Mixed Martial Artists @jackshoremma And @johnphillipsufc Thank you to @muscleacademy_taylor For his help with my nutrition and making sure I came into this fight the leanest and best I’ve ever felt! Thank you to the @sportrd_clint @the_angry_dietitian And the team for the help with the nutrition fight week! Last but not least! Thank you to my amazing family and fantastic girlfriend for supporting me from the beginning! Final Quote, “Life’s not about how hard of a hit you can give… it’s about how many you can take, and still keep moving forward.” ― Sylvester Stallone

– My congratulations to the new champion Daico, with his perfect performance. I’m glad to see such guys in our division that know how to entertain the audience with a real show. Great respect to the veteran Joseph, it was a merciless game and in this situation the strongest ones survive. Daico, announced that he wanted to stay active, I also want to claim that are ready to take his title before he is used to it. UFC, Dana, if you want to see blood Daico, send me his contract.

What a incredible journey the last 10 days has been. The story of my life is a exciting one. But this chapter of the story stretches way further back then 10 days. I have been in fightcamp since mars. There has been ups and downs. But the result is the desired one. Victory. I dedicate this victory to my coaches, teammates, family, friends and fans. From the bottom of my heart I thank you for all the time and effort you gave me to get better. For having my back and supporting my dream. Thank you! I also wanna thank my opponent @kgastelum for sharing the cage with me. You are a true warrior, and a great person. I wish you the best. The Blue Corner is MMA Junkie’s blog space. We don’t take it overly serious, and neither should you. If you come complaining to us that something you read here is not hard-hitting news, expect to have the previous sentence repeated in ALL CAPS.
