Illegal Knee Leads To Bloody, Broken Orbital

Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) bantamweight prospect Boston Salmon, who made a name for himself on Dana White’s Contender Series back in summer 2017, was hoping to kickstart his career at featherweight after returning to the regional circuit earlier this month in South Dakota.

I’m pretty sure this isn’t what he had in mind.

Salmon was awarded a disqualification victory at Legacy Fighting Alliance (LFA) 84 after opponent Shawn West landed a blatant illegal knee (watch the video replay here). The result was a broken orbital and this awful, NSFW pic of the Hawaiian’s eye.

“Aside from the DQ we feel there should be disciplinary actions enforced by the commision to set a higher precedence on these types of fouls,” his manager wrote on social media. “There was no question about the legality of the knee and Boston was awarded the win at the end of the contest.”

No timeline yet on if or when Salmon will make his return to combat sports.
