No mas!

In case you weren’t enticed by the recently-announced main event between Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr., scheduled for Sat., Sept. 12, 2020 inside Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, Calif., let me drop this boxing bomb in your lap and see if you don’t EXPLODE with excitement.

That’s right folks, YouTube boxer Jake Paul, who blasted his way into the “sweet science” last January with a first-round knockout over fellow streamer “AnEsonGib,” will make his return to the squared circle against former NBA star Nate Robinson.

That’s according to sports reporter Shams Charania.

“I am excited to partner with Triller and get in the ring to fight an elite athlete,” Paul said (via Bad Left Hook). “But make no mistake, on September 12th, Nate will meet the canvas early.”

Jake Paul is the brother of fellow YouTube star Logan Paul, perhaps best known among fight fans for his recent in-ring feud with Internet attraction KSI.

To be fair, I once watched Willis from Diff’rent Strokes battle Vanilla Ice on Celebrity Boxing, so I’m not gonna pretend I’m too sophisticated to understand why this sort of refuse continues to get recycled and reintegrated into the world of combat sports.

And no fan of PRIDE FC should ever condemn freak-show fights considering what most of us consumed on a monthly basis.

“I wanted to show that I’m a world class athlete,” Robinson said. “I played college football, played in the NBA for 11 years, and I’m excited to venture into the sport of boxing. Jake Paul, I want all the smoke.”

Broadcast plans for the Sept. 12 card have yet to be determined.
