Bellator announces upcoming dates at Mohegan Sun in return from COVID-19 shutdown

Bellator’s initial plan for a return to action consists of four events taking place in a familiar place.

On Friday, the promotion announced that, in addition to Bellator 242, it will hold three more events at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn., as it gets back into the swing of things following a five-month hiatus caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

Bellator 243 will take place Aug. 7, followed by Bellator 244 on Aug. 21 and Bellator 245 on Sept. 11. The latter two events do not have fights booked.

As MMA Junkie previously reported, Bellator 243 will be headlined by Michael Chandler vs. Benson Henderson in a lightweight rematch and also features a heavyweight bout between Matt Mitrione and Timothy Johnson. No other fights have officially been booked for Bellator 243 at this time.

Bellator’s first event to kick off its run at Mohegan Sun takes place tonight and features Ricky Bandejas vs. Sergio Pettis in the headliner of the seven-fight card.
