Pic: ‘Brunson vs Shahbazyan’ Poster Drops!

A Middleweight showdown between Derek Brunson and Edmen Shahbazyan was recently bumped to headline the upcoming UFC Fight Night event on Aug. 1, 2020 after Irene Aldana was forced out of the original planned main event against Holly Holm after testing positive for COVID-19.

And now the promotion has released the official fight poster.

Brunson is looking to earn his third straight win after winning two straight over Elias Theodorou and Ian Heinisch. It will be the first time in four years that Brunson has such a streak if he manages to get his hand raised inside APEX facility in Las Vegas, Nevada.

It will be a tough task to say the least, as Shahbazyan has yet to taste defeat in mixed martial arts (MMA), going 11-0, 4-0 inside the Octagon, including a huge knockout win over longtime veteran Brad Tavares at UFC 244.

Despite getting bumped up to the headlining act, Brunson vs Shahbazyan will remain a three-round fight. In the co-main event, Joanne Calderwood takes on Jennifer Maia, while Vicente Luque cases Randy Brown in Welterweight action.
