Introducing /r/BoxingDiscussion

/r/BoxingDiscussion is a new subreddit to discuss the sport of boxing. Created by a few /r/mma mods (and /u/williepep1960), /r/BoxingDiscussion will be home to all content related to the sport of boxing. We often get users submitting boxing clips and news to /r/mma and we wanted to make sure they had somewhere to post that content that was more relevant. /r/BoxingDiscussion is a near carbon copy of /r/mma but focused on boxing. So you can expect a very similar subreddit experience between the two.

What belongs in /r/BoxingDiscussion? If it’s about the sport of boxing, it probably belongs there. Want to discuss the latest Bareknuckle Fighting Championship fight? You can do that there. Want to discuss the Eddie Hall vs. The Mountain fight? It’s welcome there. Tyson versus RJJ’s upcoming exhibition? Also allowed there.

Of course the subreddit is primarily concerned with the sport of boxing so most content will be about your favorite boxers like Canelo, GGG, Lomachenko, Fury, Wilder, Joshua etc. If it’s a professional boxing event, it belongs in there.

If it’s something about MMA you’d see in /r/MMA; the equivalent boxing content can be posted in /r/BoxingDiscussion.

BKFC and other bareknuckle content will no longer be hosted in /r/MMA. It should be posted in /r/BoxingDiscussion.

Any BKFC posts will be told to post in /r/BoxingDiscussion. For the forseeable future we may allow BKFC news posted here but will lock the threads and redirect them to /r/BoxingDiscussion until such time as /r/BoxingDiscussion is self-sufficient.

All other boxing content submitted to /r/MMA will also be instructed to post in /r/BoxingDiscussion
