Khamzat Chimaev just fought twice in ten days, and if the UFC has its way he’ll be back in the cage for their next pay-per-view on August 15th.

Did you enjoy that brief but violent fight with Khamzat Chimaev on Saturday night’s UFC Fight Island 3 card? Then we have good news for you. The Chechyen fighter just scored a record for fastest turnaround in UFC history, competing twice in the span of 10 days. And it sounds like the UFC will keep lining up fights for him so long as he wants to keep his foot on the gas pedal.

According to Yahoo Sports, UFC president Dana White is already working to get Chimaev onto the next UFC pay-per-view on August 15 headlined by Stipe Miocic and Daniel Cormier.

For those of you not keeping a close eye on the constantly updating COVID-19 situation, travel restrictions into the US have been lifted for some essential industry employees … and professional sports athletes. So Chimaev can indeed bring his particular brand of ground domination to Las Vegas. It just may take a bit of extra paperwork, which could push things further back than August 15th according to MMA Junkie’s John Morgan.

Chimaev wrecked UFC newcomer Rhys McKee 3:09 into the first round, not allowing the Irish prospect a single punch in the lopsided bout. Ten days earlier on July 15th, Chimaev scored an ultra-rare 10-7 round en route to a second round submission over John Phillips. The two wins put Khamzat at 8-0 and set him as a force to be watched in the welterweight division.
