UFC debutant Jorge Gonzalez meets Ike Villanueva at UFC 252 in Las Vegas

Once again, Jorge Gonzalez has a date and opponent for his UFC debut.

Gonzalez (16-4 MMA, 0-0 UFC) has been booked to take on promotional sophomore Ike Villanueva on Aug. 15 at UFC 252 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. The fight will take place at 205 pounds.

Two people with knowledge of the situation informed MMA Junkie of the booking but asked to remain anonymous as the promotion has yet to make an official announcement.

Gonzalez was signed to the UFC in early July and booked to fight Kenneth Bergh at UFC on ESPN 13. However, Bergh failed to make weight, and the fight was scrapped on the day of weigh-ins.

Villanueva (16-10 MMA, 0-1 UFC), a Fury FC champion, made his short-notice promotional debut at heavyweight on May 13. He was defeated by Chase Sherman via strikes at 0:49 of Round 2. Prior to his UFC debut, Villanueva had won four straight fights inside the distance.
