Boom! Kelleher vs Simon Added To Sept. 5 Event

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has added a Bantamweight bout to the lineup of fights set to go down on Sept. 5, 2020, as MMA Fighting confirms that Brian Kelleher will face off against Ricky Simon.

Kelleher is looking to get back on track after he had his two-fight win streak — his longest in UFC — snapped by Cody Stamman at UFC 250 last May. Prior to the defeat, “Boom” had picked up impressive finishes over Hunter Azure (knockout) and Ode Osbourne (submission).

Simon, on the other hand, recently snapped his two-fight skid by defeating Ray Borg via split-decision at UFC Fight Night 171, also in May. It was a much-needed win as he could’ve been facing getting his pink slip after dropping consecutive fights to Uriah Faber and Rob Font.

Now, the two hard-hitting 135-pound combatants will look to pick up a much-needed win in a fight that is sure to deliver the goods.

The event is set to be headlined by what is sure-to-be a hard-hitting Heavyweight affair between Alistair Overeem and Augusto Sakai. Also on the card, Welterweight wild man Michel Pereira returns to face off against Zelim Imadaev, while Nicco Montano faces Julia Avila in women’s Bantamweight action.
