Rohskopf Tossed By UFC

Max Rohskopf made his Octagon debut on less than a week’s notice against veteran bruiser Austin Hubbard at the UFC on ESPN 11 event last June in Las Vegas, Nevada, quitting on his stool in the second stanza after getting knocked around by the relentless “Thud.”

Much to the chagrin of coach Robert Drysdale.

And while UFC President Dana White praised the 5-1 lightweight for having the “balls” to climb into the cage in the first place, it wasn’t enough to keep the 25 year-old Ohioan employed. That’s according to MMA Fighting, who brought word of Rohskopf’s release on Wednesday.

“There’s no shame in getting here and finding out you’re not it,” White told reporters after UFC on ESPN 11. “There’s no shame in that at all. You gave it a shot, it didn’t work out. Anybody who would try to ridicule a kid like that, fuck you. Come try it. Come try and do what he did. Very few people can do it.”

Prior to his one-off in UFC, Rohskopf — who captured the ACC championship for North Carolina back in 2016 — made a name for himself in Final Fight Championship in Las Vegas, Nevada, as well as Titan Fighting Championship in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
