Silva Draws ‘Prime Time’ Headliner On Oct. 31

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) recently booked a middleweight main event between former 185-pound champion Anderson Silva and hot-and-cold striking sensation Uriah Hall for the promotion’s upcoming fight card on Oct. 31, though a venue has yet to be determined.

No word yet on whether or not this will be “The Spider’s” swan song.

“We like the fight, and we’ll see how he does,” Silva’s manager Jorge Guimaraes told ESPN. “The man is 45 years old, but he’s always in good shape, always training. I was at his house the other day, and he was training well. He’s lost a lot of weight, and he’s been eating healthy.”

The Brazilian turned 45 back in April.

The promotion tried to pair them off in early 2016; however, Silva was felled by injury — which later required surgery — and the bout never came to pass.

Silva (34-10, 1 NC) has just one victory since late 2012, a controversial decision nod over Derek Brunson at UFC 208. As for Hall (15-9), he recently captured back-to-back fights for the first time since late 2015.

Also getting their hands dirty on the Oct. 31 fight card are Dustin Jacoby and Justin Ledet, who trade leather in the light heavyweight division. Elsewhere on the card, Amir Albazi and Raulian Paiva hook ‘em up at 125 pounds.
