Five burning questions heading into UFC on ESPN+ 34

Another Saturday night, another UFC event.

MMA Junkie readers are the smartest in the space and know the difference between a deep card and one that appears to have been put together simply because the promotion has to reach a specific number of dates on the schedule. So we’re not going to insult your intelligence and pretend that Saturday’s UFC on ESPN+ 34 is the greatest event the company has ever assembled.

And yet? As always, there’s still something that makes the show worth watching. The top two fights on the card are opportunities for first-timers in feature spots to show the world what they can do. Heavyweight Augusto Sakai and light heavyweight Alonzo Menifield step up to their first main event and UFC co-feature bouts, respectively.

They’ll take on Alistair Overeem and Ovince Saint Preux who each will look to defend their hard-claimed turf near the top of their divisions.

UFC on ESPN+ 34 will be held at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas on Saturday night and will stream on ESPN+.

Without further ado, then, here are five burning questions heading into UFC on ESPN+ 34.
