UFC on ESPN+ 34 weigh-in results: Overeem, Sakai set for headliner after session of no issues

LAS VEGAS – MMA Junkie was on scene and reporting live from Friday’s official UFC on ESPN+ 34 fighter weigh-ins, where all fighters on the card hit their marks.

In the main event, former heavyweight title challenger Alistair Overeem (46-18 MMA, 11-7 UFC) takes on Augusto Sakai (15-1-1 MMA, 4-0 UFC). The heavyweights were the last fighters to come to the scale in the two-hour official window, even though they likely had little need to cut last-minute weight. Overeem was 252.5 pounds. Sakai was 261.5.

In the co-feature, Alonzo Menifield (9-1 MMA, 2-1 UFC) meets Ovince Saint Preux (24-14 MMA, 12-9 UFC) in a light heavyweight bout that was delayed from two weeks ago. Saint Preux was the first fighter to weigh in for the event and was 205.5 pounds. Menifield came in at 204.

The weigh-ins took place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. The same venue hosts Saturday’s card, which streams on ESPN+.
