UFC adds Rachael Ostovich vs. Gina Mazany to Nov. 28 lineup
Rachael Ostovich and Gina Mazany will look to punch their tickets back into the win column – against each other.
The two UFC women’s flyweight fighters will square off Nov. 28 at a location and venue to be announced at a later date.
Multiple people with knowledge of the situation informed MMA Junkie of the booking Tuesday but asked to remain anonymous as the promotion has yet to make an official announcement.
Ostovich (4-5 MMA, 1-2 UFC) returns after a one-year U.S. Anti-Doping Agency-issued suspension for an out-of-competition urine sample that was collected Jan. 3. Because she received a four-month credit “due to time served under a provisional suspension in the latter half of 2019 for an atypical finding,” USADA said Ostovich was eligible to return Aug. 3.
Ostovich has lost back-to-back fights against Paige VanZant and Montana De La Rosa. Both fights ended via submission. Ostovich’s lone promotional victory came in her UFC debut in December 2017.
Mazany (6-4 MMA, 1-4 UFC) returned to the UFC in June after being released from the promotion in late 2019. At UFC on ESPN 10, Mazany lost to Julia Avila by first-round TKO.
With the addition, the Nov. 28 lineup includes:
- Curtis Blaydes vs. Derrick Lewis
- Norma Dumont vs. Ashlee Evans-Smith
- Josh Parisian vs. Parker Porter
- Gina Mazany vs. Rachael Ostovich
