Bellator 249: Cyborg Draws ‘Anger Fist’ For Oct. 15

Bellator MMA women’s featherweight champion Cristiane Justino will defend her 145-pound strap against top division contender Arlene Blencowe in the Bellator 249 main event, which airs live on CBS Sports Network on Thurs., Oct. 15 from Mohegan Sun.

After parting ways with UFC last fall, Justino (22-2, 1 NC) made her Bellator debut back in January, capturing the featherweight title with a unanimous decision victory over 145-pound bruiser Julia Budd.

As for Blencowe (13-7), the Australian slugger has racked up three straight wins under the Bellator MMA banner with two nasty knockouts. “Angerfist” most recently competed at Bellator 233, turning away longtime veteran Leslie Smith.

The Bellator 249 event is the promotion’s prime time debut on CBS Sports Network following its transition from Paramount Network on Oct. 1 (more on that here). No other bouts have been announced just yet, but you can expect that to change sooner, rather than later.
