Angela Hill may have ended up losing to Michelle Waterson last night (Sat., Sept. 12, 2020) at UFC Vegas 10 live on ESPN+ from inside UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, but “Overkill” looked damn good in her first UFC main event. The 16-fight veteran looked like she belonged atop the marquee.

Despite the women’s strawweight bout being promoted to a main event just one week ago, Waterson and Hill fought tooth-and-nail for all five rounds. The 115-pound clash was all locked up heading into the final frame and “Karate Hottie” offered up just a little more output than Hill to grab the decision win and end her two-fight losing streak.

While almost the entire MMA community praised the two women for putting on one of the best female fights of 2020, women’s strawweight contender Claudia Gadelha wasn’t impressed across the board. Gadelha may have congratulated Waterson on her performance, but she was quick to throw shade at Hill following her close-knit loss.

“Hill is going to cry until 2035 now,” wrote Gadelha (via Twitter), showing off a laughing emoji as well.

In case you forgot, Gadelha fought Hill at UFC on ESPN 8 this past May and ended up defeating “Overkill” via split decision, ending her three-fight win streak in the process. Hill, who out-struck Gadelha in that fight and even scored a knockdown, remains adamant that she won the co-main event affair.

Before Hill responded to Gadelha she posted an initial reaction to her UFC Vegas 10 loss on social media.

“Back to the drawing board. Disappointed in the outcome but proud of my performance,” wrote Hill via Twitter.

A few hours later, after learning of Gadelha’s comments, “Overkill” offered the following response:

“Is 2035 when you’re gonna fight again?” replied Hill (via Twitter). “Rematch me hoe, I’ll wait.”

Despite fighting Waterson for five rounds and taking about 20 front kicks to the body and face, Hill is relatively unscathed after her first main event bid. She has already fought four times in 2020 and should be ready to return to the cage as soon as possible.

It will be up to UFC to book the rematch with Gadelha or give Hill a new top 15 opponent altogether, such as Marina Rodriguez, Amanda Ribas, or Virna Jandiroba.
