Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) light heavyweight attraction Johnny Walker, fresh off his brutal knockout victory over Ryan Spann at UFC Vegas 11, once again called for a 205-pound showdown against former title contender Anthony Smith.

Who doesn’t sound overly flattered to be chosen.

“Hey for whatever reason, that guy wants to fight me,” Smith told SiriusXM (transcribed by Adam Martin). “That’s like the third or fourth time he’s called me out. Like, shut up dude. I’ll beat the shit out of you. Maybe I’ve lost two in a row, but they’re two of the baddest motherfuckers on the planet. It’s different, there are levels to this shit.”

Smith (33-16), a former middleweight, won four out of five bouts at 205 pounds before dropping consecutive losses to Glover Teixeira and Aleksandar Rakic. Walker (18-5), meanwhile, snapped a two-fight losing streak of his own by planishing Spann.

“I would fight Johnny Walker if that’s what the UFC called for, but I’m not going to go out there calling out Johnny Walker, that’s for goddamn sure,” Smith continued. “But he’s exciting, he’s powerful, he’s an athlete, he’s got the perfect frame for the weight class. And he is exciting. He’s a little bit strange. I would be surprised if they called with Johnny Walker. I would take it, it’s just not what I’m chasing.”

Both fighters, separated by just two spots in the official rankings, are currently unbooked.
