UFC Poster Drops For ‘Ortega Vs. Korean Zombie’

One of the biggest featherweight matchups will go down at UFC Fight Island 6 on Oct. 17 live on ESPN+ from inside Flash Forum on “Fight Island” in Abu Dhabi, U.A.E., as former title challengers Brian Ortega and “Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung collide in a main event grudge match.

While Ortega and “Korean Zombie” typically don’t talk trash leading into their fights the two featherweights have mixed it up quite a bit over the past year. Much of their bad blood stems from Ortega slapping Jung’s friend, rapper Jay Park, but the two have dished it out beyond that as well. In any case, their impending main event scrap is one of the best fights the 145-pound division will produce this year.

The official fight poster can be seen below, courtesy of UFC:

For Ortega, this will be his first Octagon appearance since losing his lone UFC title shot opposite Max Holloway back at UFC 231. That was nearly two years ago and is easily the biggest gap in activity for the 29-year-old Ortega. Fight fans are wondering what the contender has been able to do during his time off and “T-City” will get to showcase his improvements against one of the best fighters in the division.

For “Korean Zombie,” this will be his fifth trip to the Octagon after returning from mandatory military service back in 2017. The heralded featherweight knockout artist has won three out of his last four UFC appearances with his only loss coming to Yair Rodriguez with one second left in their fight. During that span, “Korean Zombie” has finished veterans Frankie Edgar, Renato Moicano, and Dennis Bermudez, proving that he still possesses the heaviest hands in the division.

It will be interesting to say the least, especially considering both men also have some serous submission skills on the ground.
