Highlights! Sandhagen Ends ‘Magic’ With Spinning Wheel Kick

Cory Sandhagen cemented his spot in line for a bantamweight title shot earlier tonight (Sat., Oct. 10, 2020) live on ESPN+ from inside Flash Forum on “Fight Island” in Abu Dhabi, U.A.E., when he finished No. 1 ranked contender Marlon Moraes with a spectacular spinning wheel kick in the second round of their main event.

Sandhagen burst out of the gate with early leg kicks, but Moraes was there to return the favor with big right hands over the top. The Brazilian also mixed in a few spinning back fists and a timely takedown at the end of the first.

In Round 2, Sandhagen came out firing with kicks to the leg, body, and head. Moraes tried to get inside to close the distance but Sandhagen’s movements and unpredictability ruled the way. After one minute of action Sandhagen launched a perfectly-timed spinning wheel kick that caught Moraes on the top of the head. “Magic” fell backwards and rolled over in defense. “Sandman” rushed in to sprinkle some punches and put Moraes away.
