Andrade Body Shot KOs Chookagian!

Jessica Andrade and Katlyn Chookagian faced off in a women’s Flyweight bout tonight (Sat., Oct. 17, 2020) at UFC Fight Island 6 from inside Flash Forum on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

Chookagian opened the bout looking to establish her lead hand. Andrade crashed into the clinch and drove her foe into the fence. Chookagian secured double underhooks yet somehow was taken down. Chookagian climbed her guard high and was slammed for her efforts. Chookagian again attempted a submission, and this time she was able to get back to her feet. Back in the clinch, both women landed knees. A low kick from Andrade floored her opponent! Andrade pushed her opponent into the fence again, but Chookagian landed a nice elbow. Intercepting knee scored for Chookagian. Andrade landed anoher good low kick, but she absorbed a cross and clinch knee. Andrade crashed forward with a combo and landed a slam single leg takedown. Chookagian returned to her feet immediately. Andrade ripped a hook to the body, causing her foe to yell in pain and grab her mid-section. Andrade flurried forward and touched the belly again, sending her foe to the mat for a first-round stoppage.

Wow! Andrade is an instant contender at 125 lbs., as both her power and wrestling have carried over to this new weight class. It may sound strange, but perhaps she’s next in line for Valentina Shevchneko?
