Sabra Young, the mother of UFC welterweight Mike Perry, said she feared for her life on a night her son allegedly assaulted his then-wife, Danielle Nickerson, according to 911 audio obtained by MMA Junkie.
In the early morning hours of Feb. 10, Nickerson alleged that an intoxicated Perry physically abused her in a vicious attack at their home in Orlando, Fla. Afterward, she fled to a neighbor’s house and called Young to pick her up, which Young did and took Nickerson back to her home in nearby Altamonte Springs.
The 911 call begins with Young explaining the situation to dispatch while Perry is outside of the house after he followed Young and Nickerson there.
“I’m out in the driveway, and he’s violent right now, and I’m scared for my life, and I don’t know what he’s going to do,” Young says on the call. “He’s revving his engine right now. His wife is inside my house, and I’m afraid he’s going to hurt her.”
The call lasts nearly eight minutes. About 90 seconds in, Young says Perry drove away on her front yard. Once he left, Young conveyed more of Perry’s words and actions to dispatch.
“He said he’s not leaving without her. And I said, ‘She’s not getting in the car,’” Young tells dispatch. “I went and picked her up from the neighbor’s … and I brought her back to my house and then he just showed up. And I tried to talk to him. And I told him he needed to leave and that he needed to go home and sleep. And he said, ‘I’m not leaving. If she doesn’t come out here in five minutes, I’m going to go home and burn the house down.’”
While speaking with dispatch, Young described Nickerson as being “very terrified.”
This night is among a series of domestic violence situations that Nickerson has alleged against Perry during their marriage in a lengthy interview with MMA Junkie.
