The legendary Anderson Silva makes what’s likely his final appearance this Saturday evening (Oct. 31, 2020), headlining the return of Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) to Las Vegas, Nevada, against ever-dangerous Uriah Hall. UFC Vegas 12 also features a potentially pivotal Featherweight clash pitting Andre Fili against the fast-rising Bryce Mitchell and the latest from Middleweight prospect Makhmud Muradov, who faces Kevin Holland on short notice.

What Went Wrong at UFC 254?

Everything worked out just fine! Four of the fighters involved scored decisive first-round finishes and Robert Whittaker put on an emphatic 15 minutes against Jared Cannonier, securing one of the better recent paydays.

UFC Vegas 12 Odds For The Undercard:

Alexander Hernandez (-370) vs. Chris Gruetzemacher (+310)
Sean Strickland (-330) vs. Jack Marshman (+270)
Jason Witt (-145) vs. Cole Williams (+125)
Dustin Jacoby (-320) vs. Justin Ledet (+260)
Cortney Casey (-230) vs. Priscila Cachoeira (+190)
Miles Johns (-160) vs. Kevin Natividad (+140)
Adrian Yanez (-350) vs. Victor Rodriguez (+290)

Thoughts: Not gonna lie, things are pretty dang barren this week. Cole Williams seems like a decent enough underdog play, ideally bolstered with Adrian Yanez.

The deciding factor in what’s otherwise a coin-flip fight is Witt’s lack of durability. “The Vanilla Gorilla” has been knocked out three times, including a 48-second mauling from Takashi Sato in June. Williams obviously can’t thump like Sato, but he hits reasonably hard and looks like the better boxer of the two, which is enough to merit a small investment.

Meanwhile, Yanez has an iron chin and a murderous right hand, while Victor Rodriguez is very vulnerable to right hands … do the math.

UFC Vegas 12 Odds For The Main Card:

Uriah Hall (-230) vs. Anderson Silva (+190)
Bryce Mitchell (-145) vs. Andre Fili (+125)
Kevin Holland (-140) vs. Makhmud Muradov (+120)
Greg Hardy (-320) vs. Maurice Greene (+260)
Bobby Green (-300) vs. Thiago Moises (+250)

Thoughts: A nagging little part of my brain is telling me to recommend Makhmud Muradov; therefore, might as well indulge it.

Kevin Holland’s first two wins of 2020 were dominant knockouts. His previous two victories were highly questionable decisions, and even last month’s wom over Darren Stewart wound up being much closer than it needed to be. Muradov’s sharp enough to keep up with “Trail Blazer” on the feet and has some decent wrestling chops to lean on if need be, which is enough to sell him as an underdog.

Parlay him with Bobby Green. “King” is too good a wrestler for Thiago Moises to implement his killer jiu-jitsu and figures to have a notable boxing edge, especially if he can force Moises to fight off his back foot.

UFC Vegas 12 Best Bets

  • Parlay — Cole Williams and Adrian Yanez: Bet $30 to make $56.70
  • Parlay — Makhmud Muradov and Bobby Green: Bet $30 to make $57.90

UFC Vegas 12 should at least make a decent lead-in for the return of Naoya Inoue later that night. See you Saturday, Maniacs.
