UFC on ESPN+ 39 weigh-in results: Hall, Silva official, but two are heavy and one fight scrapped (Updated)

LAS VEGAS – MMA Junkie was on scene and reporting live from Friday’s official UFC on ESPN+ 39 fighter weigh-ins, where all but two fighters hit their marks for Saturday’s event.

In the main event, former middleweight champion Anderson Silva (34-10 MMA, 17-6 UFC) takes on Uriah Hall (15-9 MMA, 8-7 UFC). The two weighed in back-to-back midway through the two-hour weigh-ins window. Hall came in at 186 pounds. Silva was 184 to make their headliner official.

In a rarity at heavyweight, Greg Hardy (6-2 MMA, 3-2 UFC) was overweight for his main card bout against Maurice Greene (9-4 MMA, 4-2 UFC). Hardy was the last fighter to come to the scale in the two-hour window and was 266.5 pounds, a half-pound over the non-title limit of 266. He was given one hour to cut the additional weight. Greene weighed in at 250.

When he returned nearly an hour after his first try, and after the ceremonial faceoffs, he was 264.5 pounds officially.

Cole Williams (11-2 MMA, 0-1 UFC) came in 4.5 pounds overweight at 175.5 for his welterweight bout against Jason Witt (17-6 MMA, 1-1 UFC) on the preliminary card. Williams was fined 40 percent of his fight purse. Witt was on the mark at 170.5.

And Jack Marshman (23-9 MMA, 3-4 UFC) missed the middleweight limit for his fight against Sean Strickland (20-3 MMA, 7-3 UFC). Marshman was 187.5 pounds and will give up 20 percent of his purse for the infraction. Strickland weighed in at 185.5.

A women’s flyweight fight between Cortney Casey (9-8 MMA, 5-7 UFC) and Priscila Cachoeira (9-3 MMA, 1-3 UFC) was scrapped from the prelims. Cachoeira was reported to have arrived in Las Vegas more than 30 pounds above the flyweight limit and was removed from the lineup after reported struggles with her weight cut. Casey did not step on the scale.

The weigh-ins took place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. The same venue hosts Saturday’s card, which streams on ESPN+.
