Bookies Unimpressed By Polish Power

Since nobody was that jazzed about an Israel Adesanya vs. Robert Whittaker rematch — including “The Reaper” — matchmakers went and booked “The Last Stylebender” for a light heavyweight showdown opposite reigning 205-pound kingpin Jan Blachowicz in early 2021.

Not surprisingly, the undefeated Adesanya (20-0) opened as a sizable favorite over Blachowicz (27-8), who turns 38 in just a few months. That’s according to our fiscal friends over at BetOnline.ag, who also included the updated betting line.

Just don’t expect the middleweight champ to fall in love with the odds.

“With Jan, he’s a good fighter, he’s solid on the ground, he’s awkward on the feet, very dangerous, and he poses a lot of problems,” Adesanya told Submission Radio. “He’s got that legendary Polish power. But yeah, everyone’s got power, right? I mean, it’s something I proved in my last fight. I told y’all. You have to delivery that power somehow, you have to get it to the target. I’m not the easiest target to hit.”

Blachowicz vs. Adesanya is currently being targeted for the promotion’s March pay-per-view (PPV) event, but the date and venue are subject to change as the world continues to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic.
