Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) will return to action this Saturday night (Nov. 7, 2020), as UFC Vegas 13 goes down inside UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada. The ESPN+-streamed event will be headlined by a pivotal Light Heavyweight bout between Thiago Santos and Glover Teixeira.

But before “Hands of Stone” goes four consecutive win number four, let’s take a trip back in time to see the Brazilian bomber do what he does best. Back in December of 2017, Glover found himself matched up against Misha Cirkunov in his first fight back after getting knocked out by Alexander Gustafsson. And if you expect Teixeira to be a bit timid following the brutal loss, you were highly-mistaken.

In the opening round, Cirkunov tried to be the aggressor and push the pace, eventually putting Teixeira against the fence an unloading a couple of vicious bombs. Like the true veteran he is, Glover stayed calm, cool and collected and defended the best he could.

Unfortunately for Cirkunov, he made the mistake of letting Teixeira get close enough to grab a hold of him, eventually taking him down to the mat. From there, the jiu-jitsu ace tried to lock in a rear-naked choke. When that didn’t work, he proceeded to pound him out with ground-and-pound attack.

Since that win, Teixeira has gone 4-1, putting him in prime position for a shot at the 205-pound title if he can get a win over Santos, who is also looking for another shot at the division strap.
