Mike Tyson Details Past ‘Whizzinator’ Use: ‘I Put My Baby’s Urine In It’

A conversation with the UFC’s ‘drug czar’ Jeff Novitzsky quickly went in some interesting directions on Mike Tyson’s Hotboxin’ podcast.

Has Mike Tyson ever used steroids? The former boxing heavyweight champion denies he’s ever taken performance enhancing drugs, and never failed a drug test for steroids in his career. But during a new episode of his Hotboxin’ podcast featuring UFC Vice President of Athlete Health and Performance / USADA liaison Jeff Novitzky, Tyson talks about how he used to use a ‘Whizzinator’ when being tested to avoid testing positive for … well, we don’t really know what.

A Whizzinator, for those unfamiliar with the term, is a fake prosthetic penis with a tube that leads to a bag full of presumably untainted urine. Since athletes have been trying to pass off other peoples’ urine as their own since the dawn of urine testing, inspectors actually make people urinate in front of them.

Enter the Whizzinator, which looks like the real thing. Pull it out, squeeze the bag between your thighs, and fill the sample cup with clean urine without anyone suspecting a thing (sometimes).

“It was awesome, man,” Tyson said. “I put my baby’s urine in it. And sometimes, one time I was using my wife’s and my wife was like ‘Baby you better not hope that it comes back pregnant or something.’ And I said nah, so we ain’t gonna use you any more, we’re gonna use the kid. Cuz I got scared that the piss might come back pregnant.”

“I think that’s happened before,” Novitzky added. “A male provided a urine sample and it came back and they said ‘Sir, you’re pregnant. Either you’re pregnant or this is somebody else’s urine.’”

“That was what I was afraid of,” Tyson laughed. “I guess I heard of this happening because I was afraid of that.”

“Did you have the right color whizzinator?” Novitzky asked. “Because there was that NFL guy last season with a white one.”

“Yeah, hell yeah, I had a brown one,” Tyson said. “This guy was so f**king macho, he was scared. I whipped it out and he was like turning, ‘Hey man take the f**king cup.’ This macho guy, he didn’t want to look at me and s**t.”

For those of you familiar with Mike Tyson’s Hotboxin’ podcast, it’s quite the scattershot affair where “Iron Mike” often jumps around telling snippets of random stories from his obviously outrageous past life as heavyweight champion. Sometimes there’s context. Sometimes there’s not. In this case, that’s the last we hear of his whizzinator exploits in this podcast.

But in his 2013 book Undisputed, Tyson says he used the whizzinator through his entire career to get away with his use of cocaine and marijuana (the latter of which cost him a $200,000 fine in 2000). While the formerly embattled boxer has been willing to admit to a host of past problems and bad behavior, he has always maintained he was a clean athlete.

As for his latest transformation from out of shape schlub to 54 year old stud? Tyson credits that to a vigorous exercise and nutrition regiment … plus a number of ‘stem cell treatments.’

Tyson is set to fight Roy Jones Jr. in an exhibition bout on November 28th.
