USA TODAY Sports/MMA Junkie rankings, Nov. 10: How high does Glover Teixeira climb?

At UFC on ESPN+ 40 this past Saturday, Glover Teixeira cemented himself as the light heavyweight No. 1 contender when he submitted Thiago Santos in the third round of their headlining bout.

Teixeira (32-7 MMA, 15-5 UFC), 41, also climbed in the latest USA TODAY Sports/MMA Junkie rankings and leapfrogged a few notable names in the process. Teixeira, who’s on a four-fight winning streak, entered the week at No. 8 and moves up to No. 5 by passing Corey Anderson, Ryan Bader, and Phil Davis.

Anderson  (14-5 MMA, 1-0 BMMA) also made moves at 205 pounds after his TKO win over Melvin Manhoef last week in the Bellator 251 headliner. Despite being leapfrogged by Teixeira, Anderson still moved up one spot from No. 7 to No. 6.
