Biggest Winners, Loser From UFC Vegas 14

UFC Vegas 14 went down last night (Sat., Nov. 14, 2020) in Las Vegas, Nevada, which featured a five-round Lightweight bout between Paul Felder and Rafael dos Anjos. After 25 minutes of action, “RDA” defeated “The Irish Dragon” via split decision (see it again here). In the co-headlining act, Khaos Williams once again picked up a first round knockout in under a minute, starching Abdul Razak Alhassan in just 30 seconds (highlights).

Biggest Winner: Khaos Williams

Two UFC fights, two devastating first round knockouts in less than a minute. Khaos is starting to have a Khamzat Chimaev-type run thus far in his UFC career because his first two bouts have totaled just 57 seconds. In his UFC debut at UFC 247, Williams knocked out Alex Morono in 27 seconds. Last night’s performance saw him end Alhassan’s night with just one punch in half a minute. That is now eight straight victories for Khaos, who could be primed to get one more fight before 2020 comes to an end. And a step up in competition could be in order. For now, Williams will enjoy his extra $50,000 in post-fight bonus money and wait to see if he gets a call for another fight in a few weeks.

Runner Up: Rafael dos Anjos

It wasn’t easy, but “RDA” got himself back in the win column after defeating Felder after five rounds of back-and-forth action. After the fight, the evidence was clear that “RDA” had just been in a war, and his face will remind him for the next few weeks that facing “The Irish Dragon” is no walk in the park. Everyone always gives the fighter who accepted the fight on short notice all the credit, and rightfully so, but the one who agrees in a change of opponent — in this case dos Anjos — deserves just as much praise. With the win, “RDA” ends his two fight losing streak — which went down at Welterweight — and gives him a new lease on his combat life at Lightweight, where he once reigned supreme.

Biggest Loser (s): Randa Markos and Brendan Allen

We’re going to go with two fighters this week, as Allen and Markos suffered some crucial losses. Markos came up short against UFC newcomer Kanako Murato via unanimous decision, giving her consecutive loss number three and bringing her record to 1-4 in her last five fights. That simply isn’t going to cut it if she wants to hang on to her spot on the UFC roster. So if she does get another chance, it behooves her to make the most of it. Allen, meanwhile, saw his seven fight win streak come to an end after getting knocked out by Sean Strickland in round number two. It was a risk taking the fight on short notice, but that’s the way the ball rolls sometimes. Now, Allen will have to go back to the drawing board and start another win streak.
