Perry Doubles Down On Innocence From Domestic Violence Accusations

A few weeks ago, Mike Perry’s ex-wife, Danielle Nickerson, conducted an in-depth interview where she accused the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Welterweight standout of domestic violence while they were married.

According to Nickerson, Perry allegedly beat her up so bad on Feb. 10 of this year that she suffered several hematomas and a cracked rib and was forced to go to Perry’s mother’s house for aide. Now Perry is once again doubling down on his innocence while painting an entirely different picture as to what happened that night.

“My mom is a savage. I have never disrespected my mother. That night only, and that was by revving my engine and I drove across her grass, so she called the cops on me,” said Perry during UFC 255 media day.

When asked whether or not he assaulted Nickerson, “Platinum” denied those claims, but did go on to say that Danielle has her incidents mixed up.

“I don’t believe that you have that correct because I did not assault her that night. I don’t necessarily believe that those allegations were made about that night that the 911 call took place,” he explained.

“The night that took place, what happened was Danielle went over to my mother’s house. And I went over to my mother’s house to tell her to come outside to to talk to her and my mom said ‘no.’

“So I said, ‘what the heck, can we have a conversation?’ So my mom got upset with me because I was mad that she wouldn’t go tell that girl to come outside and have a conversation with me. But, whatever, it’s cool.”

According to Perry, his mother was just being overdramatic when she decided to call 911.

“She’s always been overdramatic and acting up since her and my dad had me. My dad was a wild dude and she always expected something from me.

“That’s probably one of the reasons why I never disrespected my mother, ever. She looked out for me growing up and I tried to look after her since a young age. My mom’s a hard worker a server for along time. I always tip my servers well because I wanted people to tip my mom well.”

UFC never commented on the allegations and his scheduled fight against Robbie Lawler for this weekend’s (Sat., Nov. 21, 2020) UFC 255 pay-per-view (PPV) event remained intact. That was until “Ruthless” suffered an injury and was forced out of the event. Tim Means was then tasked to fill the void for the 170-pound matchup set to go down inside UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada.
