Video: Derrick Lewis breaks UFC record for most heavyweight knockouts

Derrick Lewis is not a man to be trifled with.

“The Black Beast” broke the record for most heavyweight knockouts in the UFC in his most recent outing in August when he stopped veteran Aleksei Oleinik 22 seconds into the second round in the UFC Fight Night 174 main event. It was Lewis’ (24-7 MMA, 15-5 UFC) 11th knockout in the UFC

Now, a few months later, Lewis is ready to take on fellow contender Curtis Blaydes (14-2 MMA, 9-2 UFC) on Saturday at UFC on ESPN 18.

Lewis will be looking to build on a three-fight winning streak against Oleinik, Ilir Latifi and Blagoy Ivanov. Prior to that, the Houston native was on a two-fight skid with losses to former champions Junior Dos Santos and Daniel Cormier, the latter of which came in a title challenge.
