LFA 96 highlights: Maycon Mendonca captures vacant welterweight title in Kansas

A new LFA welterweight champion was crowned Friday night as Maycon Mendonca bested Batsumberel Dagvadorj to claim the vacant title.

The battle for the 170-pound strap was the headline bout at LFA 96, which took place Friday at Hartman Arena in Park City, Kan. The card streamed on UFC Fight Pass.

The pair engaged in a full-on, toe-to-toe battle that went the full five-round championship distance, but it was Mendonca who took the victory, and the title, after earning scores of 50-45, 49-46 and 49-46 after a thrilling battle.

The night also saw victories for undefeated prospects Anthony Romero and Mo Miller, with Romero earning a unanimous decision over Zach Juusola, while Miller scored an eye-catching knockout of Regivaldo Carvalho.
