Ramazan Emeev vs. David Zawada booked for UFC Fight Night on Jan. 16

A welterweight matchup has been added to the UFC’s first card of 2021.

Ramazan Emeev (19-4 MMA, 4-1 UFC) will take on David Zawada (17-5 MMA, 1-2 UFC) on Jan. 16 at UFC Fight Night, officials announced Monday. The event does not yet have a designated location or venue.

Winner of his eight of his last nine bouts, Russia’s Emeev is coming off a unanimous decision win over Niklas Stolze at UFC on ESPN 14 in July. The former M-1 Global middleweight champion is 3-1 since dropping down to 170 pounds.

Zawada hasn’t competed since November 2019, when he upset Abubakar Nurmagomedov by submitting him in the first round for his first promotional win. The finish earned him the “Performance of the Night” bonus, as he claimed his second bonus in just three UFC fights.

With the addition, the Jan. 16 lineup includes:

  • Max Holloway vs. Calvin Kattar
  • Santiago Ponzinibbio vs. Muslim Salikhov
  • Brian Kelleher vs. Ricky Simon
  • Jacob Kilburn vs. Austin Lingo
  • Tim Elliott vs. Jordan Espinosa
  • Carlos Felipe vs. Justin Tafa
  • Punahele Soriano vs. Dusko Todorovic
  • Sara McMann vs. Julianna Pena
  • Anthony Hernandez vs. Rodolfo Vieira
  • Bethe Correia vs. Wu Yanan
  • Christian Aguilera vs. Warlley Alves
  • Omari Akhmedov vs. Tom Breese
  • Ramazan Emeev vs. David Zawada
